2009 Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru 'Les Chaffots'
Located just above Grand Cru vineyards Clos Saint Denis and Clos de la Roche. At one point, a section of Les Chaffots was parceled
off to add to Clos Saint Denis. Deep rocky soils, low yields and a beautiful slope make up this site that produces interesting berries of medium to small size. After a hail storm in August, a great deal of fruit was dropped, leaving even less fruit with amazing quality.
In 2009, we produced just over 3 barrels of Les Chaffots 1er Cru, using roughly 25% whole cluster. The entire cuvée was fermented in a steel tank with native yeasts..
2009 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 'Aux Charmes' Vieilles Vignes
From 50+ old vines located in the Aux Charmes parcel of Charmes-Chambertin which is next to the road. These vines are roughly 20 feet from Le Chambertin Grand Cru vines. Small berries, with a small number of clusters per vine are key points to this deep soiled vineyard running North/South along a gentle slope.
In 2009, we produced 6 barrels of Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 'Aux Charmes' VV, completely de-stemmed, and fermented in a wooden tank with native yeasts.
2009 Le Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Sourced from vines of 50+ years old, in a parcel close to Clos de Beze. Diverse berry sizes, deep soils, low cluster to vine ratios, and an abundance of wind are key traits of this site.
In 2009, we produced just 2.5 barrels of Le Chambertin Grand Cru, completely de-stemmed and fermented in a tiny steel fermentation tank with native yeasts.
